About Lambda Zeta
The Grounds of the University of Virginia needed an organization that served to enrich the social and cultural aspects of its African-American community. The birth of the Lambda Zeta chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated originated this opportunity.
On September 7, 1973 the Lambda Zeta chapter was conceived as the first historically black fraternal organization on the Grounds of UVA. The nine charter members of LZ include Adolphus Paige, Sylvester Wooten, Charles Chambliss, Jr., Eddie Kolb, E.
